Admission System

The 2012 Master's Program in Victimology is recruiting according to the three categories of admission systems mentioned below. Any candidate who wishes to become a researcher in the future, even if he/she is a member of society, should apply for the Admission System by Ordinary Examination.

Application Qualification

(1) Admission System by Ordinary Examination
Applicant Qualification
[Spring Semester Admission I & II]
Applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:
  • to have graduated from a Japanese university/college or be expected to graduate by the end of March 2012
  • to have obtained or be expected to obtain a bachelor’s degree by the end of March 2012 from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Education
  • to have been nominated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
  • to have been recognized as having an ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate through the Individual Assessment for University Graduation Equivalency provided by the Graduate School of Victimology, and to be 22 years of age or older

Applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:
  • to have graduated from a Japanese university/college or be expected to graduate by the end of September 2012
  • to have obtained or be expected to obtain a bachelor’s degree by the end of September 2012 from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Education

Applicant Qualification
[Spring Semester Admission I & II/Fall Semester Admission]
Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:
  • to satisfy the qualifications for the Ordinary Examination
  • to have more than three years of work experience at the time of application
  • to have a desire to be involved in victim support
  • to have been recognized by the President of Tokiwa University as having a clear research plan complying with the curricula of the Graduate School of Victimology as well as a strong will to accomplish the research
2. Admission for Practitioners in Victim-Related Fields
Applicant Qualification

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:
  • to satisfy the qualification for the Ordinary Examination
  • to have more than three years of work experience at the time of application
  • to be engaged in work relating to victims and/or victim assistance at the time of application
  • to have been recognized by the President of Tokiwa University as having a clear research plan complying with the curricula of the Graduate School of Victimology as well as a strong will to accomplish the research

Foreign applicants residing in Japan must satisfy one of the following requirements:
  • to have graduated from a foreign university/college or be expected to graduate by the end of March 2012
  • to have been recognized as having an ability equivalent or superior to a university graduate through the Individual Assessment for University Graduation Equivalency provided by the Graduate School of Victimology, and to be 22 years of age or older

(4) Admission System Based on the Recommendation from Within Tokiwa University

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:
  • to have graduated from Tokiwa University by the end of March 2012
  • to have received a recommendation from his/her seminar professor
(5) Special Admission System for Active University Students
Applicant Qualification
[Spring Semester Admission]
Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:
  • be enrolled as a third-year student at a university/college
  • be expected to obtain 100 units or more by the third year of Undergraduate Studies
  • be expected to obtain an additional 30 units or more in the year the entrance examination is taken (third year)
  • be expected to receive a grade of “A” in a minimum of two-thirds of the courses where units are obtained by the completion of the third year of Undergraduate Studies

*Applicants admitted to the graduate school through this admission system are required to withdraw from their current university.
