Museum of Museology

The Museum of Museology was officially opened in November 2002 to provide a unique teaching and research facility at Tokiwa University. Museology is a discipline by which various systematic studies are conducted in the fields of material collection and preservation, exploration and investigation, display and education.

This museum offers eight basic themes as presented by eight different display methods. These include Diorama, Ecological Exhibit, Comparative Exhibit, Participation and Experience Exhibit, Historical Exhibit, Individual Material Exhibit, Composite Exhibit and Classification Exhibit. Students and visitors can enhance their understanding of specific characteristics of each display method through the effective use of various display techniques, such as explanation boards, interactive audio equipment, computer-based presentation, lighting and spacing.

The museum is open to students, faculty and the general public.
