クマラヴェル・チョカリンガム

常磐大学国際被害者学研究所、常磐大学大学院人間科学研究科、被害者学研究科教授

インド・マドラス大学にて犯罪学および法学の修士号を取得の後、博士号（犯罪学）を取得。1983年、同大学の犯罪学科創設に携わり2001年まで学科長。2001年、タミールナド州のマノンマニアン・スンダラナール大学学長に就任。ドイツ・マックス・プランク外国・国際刑法研究所より、3度特別研究員として招聘。インド犯罪学会初代事務局長(1970-1976)、インド被害者学会初代会長(1992-2007)。また、1985年より世界被害者学会終身会員、1991年より同学会理事、2000年から3年間同学会副会長。2005年9月に来日し現職。スリランカ国立犯罪被害者センター付属被害者学研究所の常任理事（2007-）等、多数の要職を務める。

Kumaravelu Chockalingam

K. Chockalingam earned his M.A. in criminology, M.L. in criminal law, and a Ph.D. in Criminology, all from the University of Madras, India. Founding Head of the Department of Criminology, University of Madras in 1983. He was selected as Vice Chancellor of a State University in Southern India in December 2001. He was Research Fellowship thrice by the Max Planck Institute of International and Foreign and Penal Law, Germany. Founder Secretary of Indian Society of Criminology (1970-1976); Founder President of Indian Society of Victimology (1992-2007); Life Member of World Society of Victimology since 1985 and a Member of its EC (1991-2012) and one of its Vice Presidents for three years (2000-03). In 2005, he joined Tokiwa University. Board Member of the Institute of Victimology established under the National Centre for Victims of Crime, Sri Lanka (2007-).
