2025 Fall Semester: Final Slides, Bus Rides, and Goodbye Vibes
Presentation
In December, as part of the Japanese VI class taught by Prof. Watanabe, a presentation on the theme “My Study Abroad in Japan” was held. The exchange students shared their experiences and insights from their time in Japan, presenting their work in Japanese. The presentations highlighted the students’ progress in both language skills and personal development. Their growth was reflected in the content and delivery of their presentations, and it was evident that they had a meaningful experience at Tokiwa, forming connections and memories during their stay. Overall, the presentations provided a clear view of the students’ efforts and achievements.

Dorm Excursion to Kitaibaraki
The dorm excursion took place in early December, with 12 students hopping on a bus to Kitaibaraki, located at the northern edge of the prefecture.
The trip kicked off with a visit to the Tenshin Memorial Museum of Art, Ibaraki, where students viewed a mix of historical works and pieces by local artists, including students from the surrounding area.
The highlight of the trip was teamLab’s Hidden Traces of Rice Terraces, the main reason for traveling so far north. Part of teamLab’s Digitized Nature project, the installation uses digital technology to turn nature into immersive art without damaging it, allowing visitors to experience the landscape in a whole new way.
Although the weather was cold, the shared experiences and time spent together made the trip well worth it.

Dorm Farewell
The Japanese students living in the International Hall came together to show their gratitude for their roommates, with whom they shared a unique living experience. They created signature boards with personal messages and cute drawings, reflecting the time they spent together. The International Centre also presented the departing students with a yunomi (Japanese teacup) and a card as a small token of thanks.
